Welcome to the all new Sarah Holmes Health website! I’m thrilled to introduce my new company, which many of my current patients will know as Acorn Physiotherapy. It’s been a few months of great change for me, following a couple of years of training in new skills and honing them, in order to be able to offer them professionally as a fully-rounded, more holistic service where appropriate – treating the mind and body together.
A couple of years ago, I attended a course on using NLP to assist healing, specifically in a physiotherapy context – as some of you will know, I have been using acupuncture for pain relief to this end for many years. To cut a long story short, I was astonished by both the quality and speed of the results, and the way in which many patients responded overwhelmingly positively, making far faster and fuller recoveries in a much shorter time frame than they would have done via purely traditional methods. I also observed – as I have done, over the years – the extent to which issues such as anxiety can affect physical conditions, for example causing stress which leads to painful, knotty muscles and stiff joints.
So, I completed my Diploma training, which included hypnotherapy and life coaching, as all three disciplines complement each other so well – and added it to my portfolio, building up enough practice hours and supervision to become fully qualified. In fact, I’m well on my way now to becoming a Master Practitioner, so watch this space…
Then the decision was how to put these new skills to best use – whether to run a separate business as an NLP practitioner, life coach and hypnotherapist, or whether to combine them with my 30-odd years of experience as a physiotherapist. In the end, having seen how well the mind and body work together, it made sense to combine, and so Sarah Holmes Health was born. It has been quite a journey this summer, rebranding and getting everything ready to show both new clients and old, and I very much hope you like what you see.
Do tell your friends – especially if you know someone who has a specific physical or mind-related condition which would benefit – and if you are an existing patient reading this, I’ll look forward to being in touch with you soon. Do come back to the blog, as I’ll be posting regular updates and health tips which I’m sure will be of interest.
I’ll sign off for now, though, and wish you all a very happy, and healthy October. Seize the day!
